105th and 106th AVENUE NORTH PUBLIC UTILITY RENEWAL PROJECT

This project is part of the Naples Park Utility Renewal Project and includes the removal and replacement of water, wastewater and stormwater infrastructure that service residents and businesses along 105th and 106th Avenues North between Tamiami Trail and Vanderbilt Drive. As part of the improvements, the contractor will be replacing water and wastewater service lines. Clay wastewater pipe laterals from the property will be replaced with new PVC pipe. This work may need to take place on private property and permission from the owner will be necessary. Stormwater collection and treatment system rehabilitation work will take place in the right-of-way. This project will also improve the ability to collect wastewater from Basin 101 for conveyance to the treatment facility to prevent overflows and ensure a continued high level of wastewater service to the community.

PROJECT PROGRESS UPDATE

The contractor finished installation of new 8-inch PVC water main, fire hydrants and water services along the entirety of both streets. The existing asbestos-cement water mains along the entirety of both streets and side streets were also removed. Furthermore, the contactor finished installation of sanitary sewer main, sanitary laterals, and stormwater drainage along both streets, and along 6th Street North and 7th Street North.

The final layer of asphalt was completed for all blocks of 105th and 106th Avenues North. The contractor finished right-of-way and driveway restoration, including grading, irrigation system repairs and installing sod along the entire length of both streets. A walkthrough was held with the project delivery team and the contractor anticipates addressing punch list items along both streets in the following weeks. This will be the last progress update, as the project is now considered complete.
