98th and 99th AVENUE NORTH PUBLIC UTILITY RENEWAL PROJECT

This project is part of the Naples Park Utility Renewal Project and includes the removal and replacement of water, wastewater and stormwater infrastructure that service residents and businesses along 98th and 99th Avenues North between Tamiami Trail and Vanderbilt Drive. As part of the improvements, the contractor will be replacing water and wastewater service lines. Clay wastewater pipe laterals from the property will be replaced with new PVC pipe. This work may need to take place on private property and permission from the owner will be necessary. Stormwater collection and treatment system rehabilitation work will take place in the right of way. This project will also improve the ability to collect wastewater from Basin 101 for conveyance to the treatment facility to prevent overflows and ensure a continued high level of wastewater service to the community.

PROJECT PROGRESS UPDATE
March 19, 2025

Contractor finished installation of new PVC water main and water services along the 500 and 600 block of both streets and finished water main installation activities along the 700 and 800 blocks of 99th Avenue North. The new water main along the 700 and 800 blocks of 99th Avenue North successfully passed the bacteriological testing and connected new water services along the 700 and 800 block. Contractor also installed new water main and fire hydrants along the 700 and 800 block of 98th Avenue North and finished connecting new water services and installing backflow preventors and meter boxes.

The existing asbestos-cement water main was removed along the 500, 600, 700 and 800 block of both streets. Stormwater drainage installation was completed along the 500, 600, and 700 block of both avenues and along the 800 block of 99th Avenue North. Sanitary sewer main and laterals installation were completed along the 500, 600, 700 and 800 block of both avenues. Contractor placed the first lift of asphalt along the 700 block of 98th Avenue North, continued driveway restoration activities along the 700 block of 98th Avenue North and continued right-of-way restoration activities along the 800 block of 99th Avenue North.
